MooseWood Nature Center will be hosting a maple syrup making program on March 24, 2012 at MooseWood Nature Center on Presque Isle from 12-4pm, followed by our annual Candlelight Ski, Snowshoe and Hike around the interior trails from 6-8pm.
Come and see how maple sap is collected and boiled down into sweet, natural maple syrup and sugar. We’ll learn about “sugarbush” traditions such as selecting which trees are good for tapping, when the time is right, and how to make the syrup. There will be plenty of “sweetwater” and syrup to taste.
Open to all ages. $3 for kids, $5 for adults, $15 for families.
